Dentistry

At Vance Veterinary we understand the importance and impact of dental disease on the health of your pet, and follow gold standards of practice as recommended by the Veterinary Oral Health Council. Which is why we will offer full service care with digital dental radiography for detection of disease under the gumline, pain management, comprehensive anesthetic planning, oral health care evaluation and surgery which include tooth extraction as well as gingival flaps for optimal post extraction healing and comfort, as well as full oral exam to evaluate structures such as larynx and tonsils to screen for oral growths or disease.

Ultrasound

The ability to be comprehensive in our imaging allows for even the most difficult of conditions to be evaluated. Full abdominal diagnostic studies are available, with the ability to include non-invasive fine needle aspirate tissue sampling techniques to aid with diagnosis of complex diseases. Limited cardiac assessment for staging of valvular cardiac disease and monitoring of progression and medical management.

Immunization management

Vaccinations are a life saving tool for many patients but must be individualized based on life stage, risk assessment and general lifestyle so that risk of preventable disease or conditions are considered and tailored specifically for your pet. At Vance Veterinary we will focus on what you do need and what you don’t to keep your pets healthy.

Laboratory Testing

As a mobile service we will strive to provide the latest in care, which is why we will partner with the most advanced full reference laboratory as well as utilize specialized testing at Universities to provide testing that  includes wellness, drug monitoring, preventative screening, cancer screening as well as management and monitoring of complex metabolic diseases and conditions.

End of Life/Euthanasia

The single most important difference a mobile practice can provide to its patients and families is to provide a peaceful, thoughtful experience for end of life care that focuses on empathy, respect and ensuring the alleviation of suffering in the privacy of your home. Both private and communal cremation services are provided so that you may focus on healing during times of loss.

Surgery

Spay, Neuter, and Growth removal are just a few of the surgical procedures offered as well as Ocular and local growth removal techniques. Our surgical services include all of the hospital features utilized at your traditional brick and mortar practice. Continuous monitoring of all vitals such as ecg, pulse oxygenation, end tidal respiratory C02, heart rate, and blood pressure are performed continuously. IV fluids via an infusion pump so that fluid therapy is tailored specifically for each patient to support their hydration and health during anesthesia. External heat support via warm air blanketing or warm water circulating pad beneath for comfort and overall thermal care while under anesthesia and during recovery are provided because it’s not just the surgery performed, but the patient’s comfort that are at the core of our standards and values.

Behavior

We believe that pets’ mental health and the relationships with their family are at the core of overall health and the quality of the human animal bond. For that reason we have services to offer help with behavior in a way that traditional brick and mortar cannot. By coming to the home we are able to include environmental evaluation, positive reinforcement techniques for reconditioning and redirection, and medical management for situational and long standing chronic anxiety/fear related disorders.

Dermatology

Skin disease especially here in Florida remains one of the top diseases for which clients seek care for pets. Dr. Vance has spent years focusing on continuing education as this field has evolved over the last 20 years to provide comprehensive assessment of chronic and acute skin conditions, with ability to perform microscopic cytologic exams onsite, along with advanced reference lab sampling as well. Each case will be provided with treatment recommendations for current concerns as well as thorough client education on long term management of complex skin diseases using supplements, topical management and medication in order to provide not only immediate relief but long term control of frustrating long standing skin disorders such as Atopy, food allergy, seborrhea and many more.

Fear Free pet handling

The use of fear free handling techniques will always be employed with our practice to provide an experience that conveys concern and caring for each pet’s emotional wellbeing and needs while providing care. Education to clients will be provided on these techniques as well in order to aid with procedures such as nail trims, exams, blood sampling, or even social experience outside of the veterinary visit. We want your pet to not only be healthy but be fear free and happy in their everyday life.

Digital X-Ray

We recognize that high quality imaging is vital to preventative care, treatment and diagnosis of complex and chronic conditions. At Vance Veterinary we are able to perform orthopedic, soft tissue, thoracic, spine, and abdominal studies with the added service of transferable images for emergency needs and referral consultation for radiologist services when advanced care is needed.

Nutrition/Weight Management

Statistically the single most important factor to longevity and health has been overall body condition. This is why every exam will include a comprehensive overview of body condition and nutrition to optimize health for life stage, medical conditions, mobility and control of chronic pain.

Parasite Prevention/Management

We believe that there is no one best preventive for every patient that is why each visit will include a comprehensive evaluation of your pet’s health to screen for parasites and make recommendations of prevention based on your pet’s needs. Finding options that fit best to be sure it is not stressful, and is easy to remember so that your pet stays protected year around.

Telemedicine

For established patients with ongoing needs for more frequent counseling on complex conditions we will offer the convenience of online one on one discussions with video chat using google meet so that you are not left with concerns for established conditions and we can be a true partner in your furry family members’ healthcare. (There may be times where that appointment leads to the recommendation of a repeat in person appointment).

Ophthalmology

Ocular conditions can be very serious which is why we have made available the ability to perform testing and monitoring of ophthalmologic conditions. Testing offered includes tear testing, intraocular pressure measurement, fluorescein staining, as well as surgical options such as cherry eye repair and eyelid growth removal.
